A new protocol for AI agent infrastructure.

When an AI agent acts as a counterparty in an institutional transaction, today there's no standardised way to verify in real-time that the agent is currently authorised, in good audit standing, and capable of the action. Workloft has just published AgentPass V0.1 — a Verifiable Credential profile that closes the gap with a single API call. The institutional governance layer the agent ecosystem doesn't yet have.

Built on W3C Verifiable Credentials, did:web, Google AP2, public-anchored audit chains
Closes the gap MCP, A2A, and AP2 left open at the institutional verification layer
Authored by Workloft, published as RFC, targeted for Linux Foundation A2A SIG + W3C VC submission across May–July 2026
